How Do I Retrieve A Walkthrough When My Display Falls Asleep?

We are aware of a common issue where a device’s display might go to sleep while a user is conducting a walkthrough. This is more common among smart tablet users (like an iPad or Samsung tablet) and mobile app users.

What to do if the display falls asleep

If you are able to open the app within 2 to 3 minutes of the display going to sleep, you will still be able to continue the walkthrough from where you left off.

If the display falls asleep for more than 5 minutes, it will close automatically and save the walkthrough as a draft. The walkthrough will appear in the Walkthrough list as if it were in draft mode.

To access your draft walkthrough via mobile device:

1. Log into the Education Walkthrough app
2. Navigate to the Walkthroughs tab

You should see your latest walkthrough in draft status on the walkthrough list. Click Finish.

To access your draft walkthrough from your web browser:

1. Log into your account
2. Click Walkthroughs
3. You should see the latest version of your walkthrough in draft status. Click Finish.

You can easily pick up where you left off and finish your walkthrough.

Quick Tips

Recommendation: Before conducting walkthroughs for the day, it is a good practice to make sure your device’s auto lock settings are turned off. If you are using an iPad or iPhone, head into your device’s Settings, search for Display & Brightness and look for Auto-Lock; change this to Never.

When you’re done with walkthroughs for the day you can change this setting back, but it is helpful because it keeps your display awake, only turning off if you click the device sleep button on the side of your physical device.

FAQs

Can I delete a walkthrough while it is in draft mode?
Unfortunately, no. You will need to complete a walkthrough before trying to delete it. You will notice that the checkbox next to the walkthrough is grayed out until it is no longer in draft status.

Can I delete a draft walkthrough that another user started?
No, as we want to ensure a seamless user experience. Once started, a walkthrough will appear in draft mode to other users. In this instance, if a user could delete another user’s draft, this might create issues with real-time walkthroughs.

Can I complete a walkthrough from my web browser that I previously started on my mobile device?
Yes, you can easily access a walkthrough you started on your mobile device from your web browser. Log into your account, and click Walkthroughs. From here, you will see the draft walkthrough you started on your mobile device.
